Montana's municipal primary election is Sept. 13, 2011 and the municipal general election is Nov. 8, 2011.
Register to vote

Register to vote or change your name or address by filling out a voter registration form. (Your phone book has a copy of the form, too.) Mail the form to your local election administrator. Learn more.
Registration Deadline

Mail-in registration deadline is 30 days before the election. Note: You may register and simultaneously vote early in person at your local elections office up to and including on election day.

When to vote

Polls open at 7 am in places with more than 400 residents and at 12 noon in places with fewer than 400 residents, and close at 8 pm.

Bring current, valid photo identification to the polls. Learn more.
Vote in person (early)

Any Montana voter, registered or not, may vote early in person at your local election office. Call your local election office for details.
Vote absentee

Any registered Montana voter may vote absentee by mail. Absentee voting begins 75 days before the election and ends on noon the day before election day. Mail your absentee ballot request form to your local election office. Your ballot will be mailed to you. Learn more.
